Wedding Photos FAQ
Why hire a professional?
Should I prioritize my wedding photographer at the top of my wedding budget?
Your big day is looming, and the preparations are endless. The dress, the flowers, the cake, stunning decorations… but what about the person behind the camera who will capture your special moments in a series of captivating images?
Too many people overlook the importance of choosing an excellent photographer. They might say, “Anyone I can find in the area will work,” or “My aunt is good at taking photos.” However, it’s important to choose your wedding photographer carefully to ensure your special day goes smoothly. You need someone who is a true artist at capturing moments so you can have a beautiful record of your memories for years to come. Here are a few reasons why.
It's a Once-in-a-Lifetime Day
This is not a rehearsal. You won’t get to replay your wedding day, which is why it’s so important to store precious memories in the form of professional photos. Mobile device images can be good enough to post on social media, but they won’t give you the heirloom pictures you get with skillful wedding photojournalism.
A photo professional should definitely be at the top of your priority list during wedding planning.
Wedding Photos Tells the Story of Your Relationship
True expert photography goes beyond advanced equipment, professional work, and an impressive style. Talented wedding photographers are storytellers who won’t miss a single key moment of your special day. They will tell your love story in pictures while being nonintrusive and easy to work with.
A photo professional should definitely be at the top of your priority list during wedding planning.
You Won't Regret the Investment
Few people regret hiring quality professional services for their engagement shoots and wedding photographs. On the other hand, many say they wish they had invested a little extra in recording their special, once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Don’t overlook your engagement photos. Your proposal and engagement are an enchanting part of your romantic story, one that deserves to be recorded in its own memorable engagement session.
You'll Share This with Your Kids One Day
One day, you will sit down with your children or loved ones and look through photos of your marriage ceremony. You will say things like “Can you believe this is your Daddy?” or “This is how Granny used to look when she was younger!” These photos will become part of your family history, a time capsule containing magical moments.
Weddings Pass, but Pictures Last
Eventually, the food is gone, the flowers wilted, and the decorations removed. The only lasting mementos people keep after weddings are photos and videos.
On average, wedding photographers in Omaha price their services at around $1,000 for a two-hour photo session. Many couples in Nebraska are ready to pay much more than that for catering and an impressive multi-tiered cake. They will hesitate when looking at the price lists of professional photographers.
It’s important to keep in mind that while gourmet food, lavish decorations, and a live band will impress your guests, at the end of your big day you’re left with nothing but recorded images. Your wedding photographs are a lifelong investment.
Not Sure How to Choose Your Wedding Photographer?
Before you hire a photographer for your wedding or engagement session, shop around and ask to see examples of their work. Recommendations are great but trust your instincts. Go with the best professional you can afford, one whose work you like and who gives you a warm personal experience.

Early fall nuptials at lied lodge
Laurissa & Christian say “I do” amid the idyllic views of Arbor Day Farm.
By: Sydney Stevens
Laurissa Germishuys and Christian Jelinek joke that they did things backwards, going on “honeymoon-quality vacations” before their wedding, thanks to her job as a travel agent. Though they stayed close to home for their wedding, the autumn ceremony at Lied Lodge was as enchanting as any exotic trip. Family abounded, with four sets of parents, plus step-brothers, sisters, and in-laws taking part, and Laurissa’s mother gave her a charm of all four grandparents to put in her bouquet. Bridesmaids were styled in mauve floor-length gowns, complementing the neutral palette of whites, nudes and light pinks. After their first look, Laurissa and Christian said their vows at the ceremony installation swathed in beige drapery, pampas grass and blush roses, followed by rousing cheers from all present. The grand ballroom’s tables were adorned with tall centerpieces of dried and fresh flowers atop metal stands, with low candles to add to the ambience. Laurissa and her dad impressed everyone with their father-daughter waltz (they had been practicing for months!), and guests feasted on the delectable cake, decorated with the same pattern as Laurissa’s gown, just a few of the weekend’s unforgettable memories.
